VH1 presenter using death to sell T-shirts

Whitney Houston is dead and while many are grieving, Yandy Smith of Love & Hip Hop is using the opportunity to promote T-shirt sales. While the thought of promoting merchandise after a celebrity's death may seem insensitive to some, it's routine practice for many in the entertainment industry. Yandy worked her way up the management world of Hip Hop where women aren't taken as seriously as men and she knows her business.

As Smith said before, she's all about the checks. Shortly after Whitney Houston's death, Smith retweeted, "I want one! RT @ForeverWhitneyH: @yandysmith - Check out http://www.foreverwhitneyhouston.com we've got these amazing t-shirts in ..."

While it is unclear whether or not Yandy Smith will get a percent from the sale of these shirts, chances are she won't promote without compensation of some sort. The plain commemorative T-shirts state "And I Will Always (Heart) WHITNEY." Sadly, Whitney Houston's fan base dwindled throughout the years, but her amazing voice will live forever. Yandy is surely hoping to have the same kind of imprint on the entertainment community in her own way.
